Rugarama Health Centre is registered in Uganda as “Not-for-profit NGO” because we try to balance our annual budget without running the institution for profit. Unfortunately, if it comes to bigger projects (e.g. like buying a new water tank, special projects for patients in greatest need etc.), without foreign aid we would fail to make enough money available. Therefore, we are very much depending on donations and can only run special programmes for certain groups of patients in poverty, if we receive financial support from abroad. The hospital income currently comes from three main sources as follows: patient user-fees (65%), government grant (25%) and overseas donations (10%). Our total annual income is currently around £100,000, which pays salaries for 85 staff members and all medicines, special programmes and utilities. ALL DONATIONS ARE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED, and can be allocated for specific departments, e.g. as follows: Hiv, Malnourished children, Premature babies, Paediatric and disabled children work, Obstetric theatre, Staff sponsorship, General development etc.

If you would like to make a donation, please deposit in one of the following bank accounts with a reference to the purpose of your donation. AT THE SAME TIME PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND A CONFIRMATORY EMAIL TO THE MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT AND FINANCIAL CONTROLLER OF RHC, Dr C. Menzel, which is very important for our records (please send to: BCMenzel@web.de). This will enable us to follow up all money transfers, to confirm receipt of the money and to send an acknowledgment back to you.
