Future Plans for 2005 and beyond. . .

October 2005: opening of our two new staff houses to accommodate senior and junior staff members and attract the new members of staff.

November 2005: start operating the new x-ray and ultra-sound-scanning department.

December 2005: start operating the new obstetrics' theater, thus expanding the maternity services by offering caesarean sections.

Urgent in 2006: as soon as the obstetrics' theater is operational: (a) building of a separate paediatric unit and enlargement of the maternity ward. We expect an influx of maternity (and preterm) patients after opening the obstetric part; (b) re-building of our "traditional kitchen" -model for demonstration and education in nutrition and health issures; (c) building a surgical unit and offering orthopaedic treatment.

General Vision: to build further the reputation in existing specialist areas, namely eye care, dental care, premature babies, malnourished children, HIV/AIDS and malaria treatment, expanding the services to obstetric and surgical areas.
